idea
This project designed as a workspace building is efficient, visionary and reflective of the client’s identity. It is truely sustainable at multiple layers which include climatic adaptability, maximises spanning effeciency of steel, using low embodied energy infill materials and minimal use of concrete.
Made out of a steel structure and bricks as infill made out of construction waste, this building thus is sustainable to its core. Not only it is envisioned to be built out of recyclable materials, it is also again completely recyclable.
Cavity walls on east and west facade reduces the building enery usage as well as improvises for better living conditions in the inside. Also, the thoughtful use of glass considering climate as the dominant factor has been a differentiator with other office building in a similar climatic context as ours. The north facade has the largest windows, the east and west has horizontal slit like windows which minimize heat gain and south has a huge curved wall of terracota blocks which let in winds but controls the sun.
