The Courted Pavillion located north of Ahmedabad is in the context of a golf course on one side and farmlands on the other. Interestingly, the site is quite shaded by old neem trees with a road passing right through the centre dividing it in two parts.

The building is divided essentially into two parts: one encompasses the entry pavilion with the informal amphi-theatre and the other encompasses the main residence. Built with-in open parcels of land within the trees, it still connects itself by a thin concrete wall and a ramp that runs parallely.

The scale of the built is quite low as you enter and the forms of the built guide you and each path is then sequentially revealed as one traverses the house. The house is all about transitting to a more orderly residential villa with a double heighted Pavillion looking over to the golf course. This transition from a more rustic farmland to the curated golf-course views is decked up with intermediate pavillions, inner courtyards, and recreational spaces.
